Jyothi’s Rise: From Orphanhood to National Pride

Jyothi Tigadi’s life began with heartbreak—losing her mother just 13 days after birth and her father a year later. Orphaned at one, she was taken in by her aunt and uncle in Sulla village, who, despite being uneducated daily wage laborers, did their best to care for her. Struggling financially, they feared they couldn’t support Jyothi’s education.

The Jehovah Jireh Foundation Orphan Sponsorship Program (JJF OSCP) stepped in 2017, Jyothi was enrolled in the program, which covered her school expenses and empowered her to chase her dreams. Today, Jyothi is pursuing her second year of a degree at SJMVS’s Arts and Commerce College for Women in Hubli. Her journey doesn’t stop at academics—she has also excelled in the sport of Whosu, winning first place at the local level and earning a spot in the national finals in Kashmir on February 8, 2024. Jyothi’s story is one of resilience, hope, and transformation—all made possible through sponsorship.
